安東理恵 音楽博士 (D.M.A.:Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance)
3歳からピアノを始める。桐朋学園付属「子供のための音楽教室」、桐朋学園女子高等学校音楽科を経て、1997年に桐朋学園大学ピアノ専攻卒業。
桐朋学園大学在学中から渡米するまでの数年間、当時東京藝術大学や二期会でオペラ指導にあたっていた故Maestro Ubaldo Gardiniのレッスンに週一度伴奏者として通う。過去にマリア・カラス、ルチアーノ・パバロッティをはじめ世界的なオペラ歌手を指導し一緒に仕事をしてきたマエストロのレッスンでは主にソプラノの伴奏をしたが、ベルカントやコロラトゥーラ唱法の指導法を間近で見た経験は、ピアノ演奏をする上でのフレーズの作り方に大きなヒントとなった。
1998年に渡米後、ピアニスト、Pawel Skrzypek氏に出会い師事。1999年、ポーランドのラジンにてThe International Workshop of Interpretationに参加、翌年、カリフォルニア州で行われたThe Gold County Piano Institute Competitionで優勝した事で、ポーランドのクダニスクで開催されたThe Fermata Piano Instituteに招待される。Skrzypek氏のレッスンからは、特にショパンの演奏法や、ピアノ演奏において効率的かつ表現豊かになる運指法について多くを学んだ。
2001年、居住していたワシントン州ベーリンハムにあるWestern Washington Universityへ修士号取得の為入学。Dr. Lorraine Minに師事。The Ford Hill Piano Scholarship、The Margaret E. Hamstreet Music Scholarship、The Bellingham Music Club Competitionから奨学金を受け、TAをしながら学位を取得。また、Concerto Competitionで選出され、オーケストラと共演、リストのピアノ協奏曲2番（S.124）を演奏。卒業後一年、同大学で専任伴奏者として勤める。
2004年にワシントン大学へ入学するためにシアトルへ転居。Craig Sheppard氏に師事。The Helen Crowe Snelling Scholarshipなど幾つかの奨学金を受けた後、2年間GSA (Graduate Staff Assistant)として仕事をしながら勉強を続ける。在籍中、The Seattle Musical Art Societyから奨学金を獲得。2007年に構内で開催されたMozart Piano Concerto Competitionで優勝し、翌年2月、オーケストラとモーツァルトのピアノ協奏曲第20番作品466を演奏。2010年に博士号取得。
これまでに、ピアノを安孫子和子、加藤伸佳、Pawel Skrzypek、Dr. Lorraine Min、Craig Sheppardに師事。伴奏法、コレペティートルをMaestro Ubardo Gardiniに師事。
Dr. Rie Ando
Dr. Rie Ando is a native of Japan who began studying piano at the age of three. She studied at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo for nearly 19 years in the Children’s Music Program, the High School Program, and at the collegiate level, where she completed the Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. She holds the Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Western Washington University, where she was awarded the Ford Hill Piano Scholarship and the Margaret E. Hamstreet Music Scholarship; she also earned an Artist’s Diploma from the International Workshop of Interpretation in Radzyn, Poland.
Dr. Ando moved to Washington State in 1998 and has since performed recitals throughout Poland, Japan, California, and Washington. In 2005, she was chosen to receive the Helen Crowe Snelling Scholarship from the Seattle Musical Art Society. Additionally, she has won the Gold County Piano Institute Competition in Nevada City, California, the Bellingham Music Club Competition, the Western Washington University Concerto Competition, In 2000, and the University of Washington Mozart Piano Concerto Competition in 2007. Dr. Ando was invited to the Fermata Piano Institute in Gdansk, Poland. Dr. Ando earned her doctoral degree from the University of Washington in 2010 while studying with Craig Sheppard.
